Limitations:
The TexShare card is intended for research, not
recreational purposes. TexShare cardholders may borrow no more than
3 items from the circulating collection. Materials will checkout
for three weeks and cannot be renewed. Reserve items,
multimedia (including video, audio, CD, and DVD), and items with
current hold lists are not eligible for checkout by
TexShare cardholders.
Eligibility:
TexShare cards are issued through the circulation
desk on a case-by-case basis. The card expires four months after the
date it is issued. After that period, the patron must obtain a new
TexShare card. In order to qualify for a TexShare card, patrons must
meet the following criteria:
·
Patron must be at least 12 years old.
·
Patron must have been a member of the Mae Bruce Library
for at least 1 year
·
Patron must have a good borrowing history with the
library (no excessive fines, no lost items).
·
Patrons must not have outstanding fines, fees, or
overdue books at the time the card is issued.
Checkout Procedures:
Immediately upon coming to the library, the
cardholder should report to the circulation desk and fill in a
TexShare Borrowing Privileges application. Once the cardholder has
selected the items for checkout, he/she should return to the circulation
desk to have those items checked out.
Cardholders must have both a current TexShare
card and a current form of photo ID (driver’s license, school ID
card, etc.) Children under sixteen must be accompanied by an adult
whose photo ID will be used if the child does not have one of his/her
own.
Returns:
The cardholder is responsible for returning all
items to the lending library before the end of the checkout period.
The materials may be returned in person, by mail or using a delivery
service, but the cardholder assumes all expenses involved in returning
the items. The library's address is:

Fines:
Fines accumulate at the rate of .10/day per item.
The maximum fine is $5.00 per item. If items are not returned, the
cardholder will be charged for the price of the item plus a
$5.00 processing fee. These charges will be reported to the library
that issued the card, but all fines and fees must be paid to the lending
library. The Mae S. Bruce Library may at any time revoke a patron’s
TexShare card if that person has outstanding fees or fines with any
TexShare Library. Failure to return materials or to pay outstanding
charges in a timely manner may result not only in the cancellation of
TexShare privileges, but in the suspension of borrowing
privileges with the Mae S. Bruce Library.
